Compaction Grouting

Compaction Grouting is the injection of a very stiff, pumpable grout mixture at very high pressure into specific areas in the soil.  The expanding globular mass of grout then compacts the soil around each point of discharge. Compaction Grouting is most commonly done in stages, working from the bottom on deep injection, up since this is the fastest method. However, top down injection is often used on shallow injection applications as this method strengthens the upper layer of soil to help contain the pressures of the lower levels of compaction.

Compaction Grouting techniques are used for pre-construction site improvement, to arrest foundation settlements, rectify sinkhole problems, to lift and to level slabs and foundations, but don't require sandy soil conditions as in permeation techniques.
