CRACKS IN & AROUND FIREPLACES AND STEPSFireplaces and steps produce a great concentration of weight which is borne upon a relatively small amount of foundation area.
This is most often due to a void under the foundation caused by settling
earth, or decaying timber below the structure. It can also be caused by
too small a foundation for the amount of weight brought to bear on it. Gibson offers the ability to help determine the exact cause such settling and a variety of solutions to not only prevent further settling, but can often raise the foundation back up to it's original position. If you have problems that you feel could be caused by foundation settling, contact Gibson and we will assist you in a quick resolution.
